The Ontinyent Exhibition Centre hosted the inauguration of MIRALL, a large-scale mural conceived as a reflection of cultural and sexual diversity, and as a meeting point between art, education and citizen participation.
Beyond the finished artwork, the true protagonists of the event were art students from different educational centres in Ontinyent. During the inauguration, they took part in an outdoor drawing session where they interpreted, from their own perspective, what MIRALL meant to them. Their illustrations, ideas and reflections became an essential part of the project, demonstrating how art can be a tool for expressing values such as inclusion, coexistence and respect.
The inauguration highlighted not only the artistic result, but also the shared process with the young participants, who had the opportunity to experience first-hand the development of a large-scale mural and to take part in a creative project connected to their surroundings and the cultural identity of the city.
This project was made possible thanks to the support of the Generalitat Valenciana, GVA Igualtat, Ontinyent Town Council, Jove Ontinyent, the participation of the invited secondary schools and the collaboration of Montó Pinturas, as well as the educational centres that made the parallel activities possible.
